Do I Need An Induction?
If you are new to climbing then we ask that you complete an induction session with one of our instructors to make sure you know how to climb safely on an indoor bouldering wall. The induction takes around an hour and covers basic safety information as well as an introduction to climbing to help you start hopefully, to love this sport as much as we do.
Completion of the induction will mean you can come back and climb independently at Avid in the future. The induction costs £20 which includes your shoe hire, one off registration fee and instruction. You may also stay on after your induction and climb for as long as you would like.
If you want to climb with your children (if they are Under 16) it is really helpful if you undertake the induction with them so they can hear the safety briefing and understand the requirements to climb at Avid. Only adults are charged for the induction* and we also offer a family induction price of £45 for 2 adults and up to 3 children
*Children are just charged at a normal U16 climb pass price so for example 1 adult and 1 child would cost £26.

Experienced Climbers
If you consider yourself as an experienced climber and have used indoor bouldering centres regularly, then there is no need to complete an induction. On your first visit to Avid you will just need to register and pay a one off joining fee of £5 at reception. To save time, you may wish to pre-register online by clicking the button below.
