Climbing is a fantastic sport for children and young people. It can challenge physically, increasing strength and stamina, as well as developing problem solving skills, the ability to make quick decisions and teamwork. However, like any sport, climbing also has its dangers and it is important to us that young people are supported to climb safely at Avid.  Please read on for information about how to get children and young people climbing.

Under 8 yrs8-14 yrs14-16 yrs16-18 yrs
Will need to be directly supervised by a registered climber or an adult who has competed one of our inductions. Will need to be directly supervised by a registered climber or an adult who has competed one of our inductions.

Can also attend one of our courses to climb under the supervision of one of our instructors.

First visit - need to complete an induction and a parent or guardian to complete the registration form. Then they are welcome to climb unsupervised.
